Presenting a line of jewelry chains, Emmanuelle Khanh brings back into fashion a popular accessory that was outdated at the time. All her life, Emmanuelle Khanh imposed her own vision of the future. When she founded her namesake fashion brand in Paris in 1969, the young designer was inspired by young and courageous people that were becoming aware of their strength and were not afraid of being different. The first EK eyewear collection was launched in 1971 and included bold frames with unusual volumes. Quickly after the launch of the eyewear line, Emmanuelle Khanh became a symbol of the 1970s and 1980s fashion scene with her eccentric and daring silhouettes. In 2012, the brand came back after its fade-out in the 1990s, bringing back the iconic shapes, the signature of what remains nowadays as EK’s most outstanding and recognizable element of style.
In 2016, the brand decided to bring in a new artistic eye and invited Eva Gaumé to become the House's creative director. The designer pursued a new direction while being faithful to the brand’s rich heritage. In Paris, she designs the label's collections, innovative and modern, while respecting the craftsmanship and traditions dear to the founder. In 2019, Emmanuelle Khanh celebrated its 50-years anniversary. For the occasion, the House invented its iconic monogram and presented their first collection of men's eyewear. Designed for an elegant and strong yet sensitive man, the frames feature beveled edges that refine the silhouette and reflect the light. Today, Eva Gaumé continues the aesthetic vision of Madame Khanh and her famous oversized frames.
